Asignment: The African Development Bank Group, through its Human Capital, Youth and Skills Development Department (AHHD) is spearheading the achievement of the High-5s on “Improving the Quality of Life for the People of Africa” and contribute to the other High-5s. The Department coordinates the Bank’s support to strengthening health systems, nutrition, education, human capital, youth employment and entrepreneurship, and economic transformation in AfDB’s regional member countries (RMCs). The consultancy services are sought by the Bank and will be provided to the Education and Skills Development Division (AHHD.1) for the implementation of the Japan Africa Dream Scholarship (JADS) program. The JADS program enables students, who are often from underprivileged backgrounds, to undergo post-graduate studies in selected priority development areas: energy, agriculture, environmental sustainability, and engineering on the continent and in Japan. The Bank, in collaboration with the Government of Japan, aims to strengthen human resource capacity in Africa, aligning with the Bank’s High 5 strategic priorities: Feed Africa, Light up and Power Africa, Industrialize Africa, Integrate Africa, and Improve the Quality of Life for the People of Africa. These priorities also reflect Japan’s key development assistance initiatives. The Consultant will be part of the Division team and will support the day-to-day implementation of the JADS program.
