The Lake Victoria Basin Commission (LVBC) has received financing from the African Development Bank Climate Action Window toward the cost of the Climate Resilience for Sustainable Maritime Transport Infrastructure in Lake Victoria Basin (CRESTI- LVB) Project, and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this grant to payments under the contract for Individual Consultants to Undertake an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) and Rapid Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessment (RCVRVA)to Design the CRESTI- LVB Project.
The services included under this project are to enhance climate resilience through strengthened absorptive and adaptive capacity of Lake Victoria's maritime transport infrastructure to climate change related shocks and stresses for sustainable socio-economic development of Lake Victoria Basin in the East Africa region. The proposed CRESTI-LVB project is expected to be implemented for a period of three (3) years.
